| At approximately 2:00 p.m. today, emergency units in the Prince Frederick area were dispatched to a report of a traumatic incident.
Units PA204, A204, EMS20B, and M104 (PMIC Poling), along with Utility 10A (PMIC A. LaVigne), responded within one minute of the alert. Responding crews were directed to stage nearby until the Calvert County Sheriff's Office determined the scene was secure.
Initial information indicated that two patients had suffered penetrating injuries. While law enforcement worked to secure the scene, CHF 10 and Utility10 (T. Farr) responded once it was confirmed that two individuals were injured.
Once safety was ensured, emergency teams quickly paired off to assess and treat the patients. Given early reports of severe injuries, two medical helicopters were pre-launched. Landing zones were prepared at Calvert Health and the Calvert Fairgrounds. A204 was upgraded by M104 and Utility10A, while EMS20B assisted PA204.
PMIC Farr organized the exit route for transporting units and confirmed that all support vehicles were sent to the appropriate locations. Both patients were ultimately flown to regional trauma centers for further treatment. |
