| Mondays are often busy for emergency medical services, and this morning followed that trend. At approximately 9:00 a.m., units from the Solomons Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to assist an individual who was injured after a fall. Chief 10 was in the area and arrived first, providing care until the paramedic ambulance arrived on scene.
While Chief 10 and the paramedic ambulance were committed to the initial call, a second emergency was reported for an unconscious person found on the side of the road in the Lusby area. Utility 10A, with Captain 10 (A. Lavigne), was nearby and quickly responded, arriving first to begin patient care.
During these incidents, a third emergency call was received in the Lusby area, requesting a medic unit for an advanced life support upgrade at the request of a basic life support unit already on scene. Medic 101, led by Paramedic in Charge Middleton, responded to this call.
All three emergencies occurred within a one-hour period, and each was handled by volunteer paramedics from CALS, ensuring rapid and professional care for those in need. |
