On this beautiful mothers Day Sunday afternoon, units from Solomons VFD were alerted for a injured hiker on the trail in the Calvert Cliffs State Park. Chief10 was in the area and added himself to the call along with paramedic intern Austin Lavigne. Chief and Austin arrived on scene first and used the park gator to get down the trail to the patient prior to the arrival of UTV3. CALS members arrived on scene with a Park Ranger and immediately began providing care to the patient. UTV3 arrived on scene not to long afterwards and began the process of loading the patient onto the UTV for transport out of the park. The patient was safely removed from the trail and brought out to a waiting ambulance from Solomons VFD. CALS upgraded the ambulance and transported the patient to a local hospital.
