CALS runs fatal motorcycle accident in Cove Point

After clearing company MedEvac training at the ranch club airport in Lusby, Medic 102 witnessed a motorcycle accident with ejection at Cove Point Rd and Old Cove Point Rd. Immediate medical attention was given to the two patients, who were found to be unconscious. Additional paramedics were requested to the scene bringing PMIC Freeman and Gaefck along with Chief 10 and 10A. Two Medevacs were requested for both patients who were both Priority 1 Category Alpha. Both patients were transported to an area trauma center with life-threatening injuries where sadly one patient had succumbed to their injuries upon arrival. After being investigated by the Calvert County Sheriff's Department and Maryland State Police it was determined that a vehicle failed to yield to the motorcycle.
