Along with a 3-Alarm building fire that CALS assisted with there were some notable Water Rescues that CALS Paramedics were requested to in the county. The first was in the Solomons (Co. 3) area of the county for an injured person on a jetski. PMIC Hiepler responded just before 1400 hours and found a female in her 20's with a large laceration on her arm after being ejected from a jetski after hitting a large wave. Patient was brought to shore via a nearby boat. Patient was found to be suffering from non-life threatening injuries with the bleeding able to be controlled by direct pressure. After making sure the patient was stable the patient was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for stitches and a check-up.

After clearing the fireground just after 1930hrs PMIC Hiepler and FTO Kreider were alerted for a near drowning just off of Broomes Island (Co. 7) after a boat capsized in the Patuxent River. A male in his 20's was brought in by boat from the area with CPR being done by a bystander. The patient was assesed and found to have a pulse but was suffering from hypothermia and hypoglycemia. A decision was made to airlift the patient to Prince George's Trauma Center by MSP Trooper 7.
