A busy Sunday in Calvert County brought CALS to assist at a 3-Alarm Building Fire in Dunkirk. Dunkirk VFD and surrounding companies arrived on the scene, just after 1400 hours, of a working building fire which ended up requiring mutual aid from Prince George's and Anne Arundel Counties. PMIC Hiepler and DeSoiza along with FTO Kreider assisted with the Rehab set up by Dunkirk's VFD Ambulance crew. The rehab was managed by Dunkirk with CALS providing ALS providers to assist in evaluating any injured firefighters that required ALS care. One firefighter was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for chest pain by CALS medics, a second firefighter was also transported BLS by the BLS crew for exhaustion. Both firefighters were treated and later released. CALS operated on the scene for approximately 3-4 hours while still maintaining coverage for the rest of the county.
