At approximately 2130 on Saturday night Solomons and the Medic Unit were alerted for an MVC involving a motorcycle. The roads had been wet since the afternoon with severe storms rolling through the area all evening. Chief 10 was in the area and arrived on scene as the call was being dispatched. Chief 10 along with Calvert County deputies found and unresponsive female laying in the roadway with severe facial trauma. Due to the quick work of dispatchers who were taking 911 calls on the incident a trooper had already been launched. R3 and A38 arrived on scene moments after dispatch and went to work with Chief 10 stabilizing the patient. M102 with (PMIC A.Miller) arrived shortly after and assisted with patient assessment and packaging for transfer of care to MSP Trooper 7. The patient was loaded and en route to the trauma center within 30 mins of the call being dispatched. Incredible teamwork between dispatch, Sheriff's deputies and Fire&EMS crews led to this patients positive outcome.
