Several members of Calvert Advanced Life Support participated in an EMT-Tactical program offered through Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Operational Medical Support. The 56 hour course pairs law enforcement and medical personnel, offering education and insight into each other's professions. Five CALS members joined 30 other students from around the country in the week long program, which includes elements of HAZMAT, advanced life support skills and preparation in varied scenarios aimed at supporting the special operations teams of police departments. In addition to students, CALS and CCSO members were involved in all aspects of the training, from instruction and support to volunteering as patients for medical drills.

The department would like to take this time to thank the United States Park Police, CONTOMS instructors and every supporting agency of the program. The dedication to public safety and your students is evident in the hours of preparation and continued support long after the course is complete. We look forward to next one.
