CALS Medics Respond to MVC with Entrapment

Yesterday at approximately 11:45 a.m., Calvert Emergency Communication dispatched crews to a serious auto accident involving a person trapped inside a vehicle. Chief 10B, who was nearby at the time, arrived on the scene before the emergency call was fully broadcast and confirmed that one person was trapped.

The incident involved two patients: one was classified as priority 3, and the other as priority 1. The priority 3 patient was evaluated by Ambulance 48 and Medic 102, while Chief 10B and Paramedic Ambulance 204 as well as EMS 20 attended to the individual trapped inside the vehicle.

Aviation transport was requested for the trapped patient. After the extrication was completed, the patient was prepared for transfer to a landing zone for air transport to a regional trauma center by Maryland State Police Aviation Command.
