On Sunday, April 26, Medics and EMTs from Calvert Advanced Life Support (CALS) participated in the Annual Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association Parade in Solomons Island. This event and convention rotate each year among the three Southern Maryland counties: Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s.

Calvert ALS was well represented at the parade, bringing six units to the event. Attending units included Car 10 led by Lt. Dickson, Medic 101 staffed by Member Koranda, Medic 103 with Captain Farr, Medic 104 operated by PMIC Stockton and Paramedic Mosher, Utility 10 with PMIC Fleming, and Utility 10A driven by Deputy Chief LaVigne and EMT Radcliff.

The parade attracted a large turnout from both member departments and spectators who lined Solomons Island Road to watch the procession, even as cloudy weather persisted throughout the day.

During the event, Medic 102, Medic 105, and Command 10 remained in service to provide coverage for the county.
