On 2/2/22 Baltimore City said 'Goodbye' to 3 fallen hero's Lt P. Butrim, Lt K. Sadler, and FF/PM K. Lacayo. For the 1st time in its 225 year history the entire Baltimore City Fire Department was placed out of service so members could attend the funeral. Units from all over the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia were asked to provide Fire & EMS coverage in Baltimore City from 0700 into the evening hours. CALS specifically requested to fill the role of EMS Supervisor and was granted their request along with other units from Calvert County (Dunkirk, Huntingtown, PF Fire and Rescue, Solomons). CALS Command 10 arrived in the city at 0500 and checked in and was assigned the role of EMS 3 (The 3rd Battalion EMS Supervisor) on the West Side of Baltimore City. Command 10 was given a unique role of supervising medic units and ambulances from DCFD, PG County & Washington Co. Command 10 was based out of station 36 the home of EMS3 on Edmundson Ave . Throughout the day Command 10 ran several calls from a Cardiac arrest, to a small fire and rescue with entrapment as well as the only shooting of the day in the city. At approximately 1800 hrs Command 10 was relieved by EMS3 who returned to service.
