On Friday, May 1, 2020, members from CALS traveled to White Marsh VFD in Baltimore County to pay respect to the family of late CALS member Marcus Paxton. Baltimore City FD, Charles County DES, and other Baltimore Co Stations for which Marcus volunteered, set up a "virtual viewing" to protect people from the ongoing Corona virus. Marcus's CALS gear was placed on display along with gear from other departments he was a part of, and apparatus from those respective units. The event was beautiful and his family was taken aback by all of the overwhelming support and gratitude that was shown to them. On Saturday, May 2nd, Marcus took his "last ride" from Baltimore City FD Steadman station to the Bay District VFD in Lexington Park. The procession consisted of only units from which Marcus was a part, however many other departments in the region lined the procession to pay final respect to Marcus Paxton and his family. CALS would like to that the following departments for all of their hard work that went into planning all of these events as well as taking care of the family after Marcus' death.
Baltimore City FD Charles County DES Lansdowne VFD Middle River VFD Bay District VFD
None of the above would have come to fruition if not for the tireless efforts of the people in the above listed departments.
