Today at 0800 the Calvert County BOCC posted the position of Division Chief for Career EMS in Calvert County. This has been a long process spanning 2 years of meetings with Volunteer Chiefs and County government to decide how the implementation will work. This is the beginning of a new chapter for Calvert County EMS and I believe it is a good one for the volunteers and the residents of Calvert County. The county has promised to support the volunteer system at current financial levels and have recently implemented new incentives to retain volunteers. Please do not be fearful of change, we will advance through the upcoming future together. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will share all the information I have.
