Medics respond to female with severe head injury after falling from horse

Just after 11 am on Tuesday Oct 2nd. Units from CALS and Dunkirk were dispatched for a female not alert after falling from a moving horse. Medic 103 (Captain Hiepler) arrived 6 minutes after dispatch and found an approx 50 year old female laying in a field suffering from a severe head and abdominal trauma. The patient was quickly packaged and treated by Medics Hiepler, Laska and crews from Dunkirk. The request was made for Maryland State Police Medevac Pri-1 CAT A to transport the patient to University of MD Shock Trauma in Baltimore by trooper 2 in serious condition.
