At approx 2300 hrs CALS and Solomons VFD were alerted to the serious MVC involving a motorcycle on Rt-4 @ Dowell rd. A37 arrived on location first and confirmed 1 patient ejected from a motorcycle, laying inside of a car. The patient was quickly assessed and found to to a pri-1 Cat-A and aviation was requested. Due to the duty medic being tied up on another call, Chief 10 responded to the scene as the ALS provider. Upon the arrival of Chief 10, Solomons crews were in the process of rapidly extricating the patient from the car. The patient was moved into the back of A37 for further evaluation and care. St.Leonard A77 assessed the passengers of the car which had been struck by the motorcycle. MSP Trooper 7 landed in the southbound lanes of Rt-4 and transitioned care from Chief 10 and A37. The patient was flown as a pri-1 to PG trauma.

Thanks you for the efforts you all made to save my son Jason... he succumbed to his injuries on 21 September 2017 but he was able to save two lives by donating his kidneys. Jason was a Navy search and rescue helicopter swimmer assigned to NAS PAX River. He was laid to rest at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover, DE on 1 October 2017. He was a beloved son, father, brother and he never met a person he did not like... He will be missed by all that knew him but mostly by me... I love my son and I truly appreciate all the efforts made to save him.
