On Thursday, April 16th Medic 105 participated in the Mock Crash at Patuxent High School along with Solomons and St. Leonard fire Dept. PMIC Stanton says “I believe the mock crash went very well. The reactions of the students in the audience proved that the message got across. The medic unit involvement added more drama and reality to the scene. The actors (victims) played the part successfully. I enjoyed operating with the crews and the interaction went as it should. "Teamwork" was quite evident. I look forward to future programs and would be more than happy to participate again.”
Mock crash scenes are reenactments of what Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement personnel deal with on a daily basis. Many people don’t understand the impact that a serious motor vehicle collision causes, not only with close friends and family of the victims, but with the people that work at the scenes of the collisions. It’s important for young drivers to experience the reality that is so easily ignored. (Paul Lenharr II - Past Chief 10)
