Monday 01/09/17 started with a strange feeling in the air. A fresh blanket of snow covered all of Calvert county and crews were recovering from the weekend storm. The overnight shift had been rather uneventful but by 0800 the gates opened and it never looked back. "Third Call for the Medic" was heard several times throughout the day as PMIC's E. Morgan, P. Bishop, S. Stockton, C.Shannon, S. Myers crisscrossed each other throughout the county as they responded to numerous calls for help. Between the hours of 7am & 7pm CALS responded to 19 calls for ALS assistance, by the end at midnight PMIC Stockton & Myers closed out the 24 hr day with 23 calls. This was truly a test for our 100% volunteer system and on this day we were able to come out in force and cover all the calls. Thank you goes out to all the PMIC's who gave up their free time to make sure the calls got covered.
