By Chief of CALS Chris Shannon FTO
April 14, 2016

At approx 1400 hrs today Stations in the north end of the county and the medic unit were alerted for an accident reported serious at the intersections of Rt-2 and Dalrymple. Chief10 was at Rt-4/Rt-2 at the time of dispatch and responded. Chief 10 arrived on scene first and found a two vehicle mvc in the intersection with 3 patients and no one trapped. Calvert notified Chief 10 that they were putting out a Commercial Hazmat box in Prince Frederick and asked if all units were still needed on the rescue. Chief 10 confirmed with Chief 6 that there was no entrapment and that all that was required was 1 squad and 2 BLS units and the medic. Chief 6, asked Calvert to place Chief 10 in command of the rescue and he would respond with the other units to the Hazmat box. A68 handled two patients with chest pain from the crash and Chief 10 ended up PEIP A59 with a 33 week gestation pregnant mother with no fetal movement after the crash. PMIC Jones (M103) handled the chest pains while Chief 10 consulted with MD STC for the mother. The mother was medevac by Trooper 7 to STC as a pri-2 CAT-D.

Units: Chief 10, M103, Squad6, A68,A59, Chief5A,Chief5B
