Recently PMIC R. Shapiro and pilot of anything that fly's (helicopters, gliders, commercial aircraft, kites) received orders for an 18th month deployment over seas to serve his country. Rob is and has been a dedicated member of CALS for the last 8 years and recently became a father for the first time. Rob will be missed while he is overseas, but we know he will be doing two things he loves, saving lives and flying helicopters. We can't wait for his return and he promises to send us updated pictures from cool places he gets to fly over (sadly only our members with TS clearance will be able to see them)...
CALS PMIC Schapiro, Pilot in Command of his UH-60 Blackhawk medevac, and according to him future "Air 10".
Pilot in command and probably the last man still wearing the "Top Gun" glasses. At least the Co-pilot got the memo, that FAD ended two decades ago.
Rob flying over the Texas country side during simulations exercises preparing for deployment.
Rob asked if he could fly his UH60 "overseas" to save on shipping cost and to get his flight hours up, sadly the US Army declined his request.
