Late Night Accident Sends Multiple Patients to Trauma Centers

Just before 2230 on Saturday Oct 14 CALS medics along with units from Dunkirk, North beach, Anne Arundel Co. were alerted for a reported head on collision with one vehicle fully engulfed in flames on Northbound Rt 4/ Rt 260.. First arriving unit reported two vehicles involved with one vehicle on fire and 1 fully involved. Medic 103 (PMIC Devere) arrived as the first EMS unit and immediately started triaging and treating victims that included 3 adults and 1 child. Command 10 (Capt Hiepler) arrived shortly after and started treating the child suffering from a facial injury and a fractured leg. MSP TRP 2 transported one (Pri 1 Cat Alpha) to PG, Ambulance 19 transported one to PG trauma (Pri 2 Cat Delta) Ambulance 58 with Medic 103 and Command 10 transported one Adult to Medstar trauma (Pri 2 Cat C) and the child to Children's National Medical Center in DC (Pri 2 Cat C). Both Mom and baby were reported in stable condition.
