Medics Run MVC with Entrapment in Lusby

On Thursday 7/5/18 at approx. 1900 hrs Solomons, St.Leonard and the Medic Unit were alerted for an MVC reported serious at the intersection of Rt-4 @ Coster Rd. Originally dispatched as No Medic Available, Capt.10 (Hiepler) marked up on the call as well as Chief10. M101 (Lt. Madariaga) and M104 (Katzer) also marked up once they were clear the ER in Prince Frederick. Solomons units went on scene reporting 1 subject trapped in one vehicle and a second patient with chest pain in a second vehicle. Squads 3 & 7 went to work extricating the trapped subject, Chief 10 arrived on scene as the 1st ALS provider and began to assess the trapped driver, Capt 10 arrived 2nd and went to assess the driver of the other vehicle. M101 arrived on scene just as the two squad crews finished the extrication and were removing the patient from the vehicle. M101 assisted Chief 10 and the crew from A39 with patient care and packaging. Capt.10, found his patient to be a pri-3 and turned care over to another BLS unit. MSP Trooper 7 arrived and transitioned care with the CALS medics and flew the patient to PG Trauma for further care.
