CALS First Arriving at Lusby House Fire

On 4/9/18 at 1345 hours Solomons, the Medic and surrounding stations were alerted for a house fire on Golden West Way in the CRE. Chief 10 was in the area and arrived on scene first along with Safety 7A (L.Callison). Safety 7A took command. Units went on location with a 2 story A-frame home with fire on side alpha, all occupants reported out of the structure. E33 first arriving engine layed out 300 ft from the hydrant and stretched two attack lines. Chief 10 joined the crew from E33 for fire attack. E71 and Squad 7 were second arriving engine and first special and assisted with extinguishing the fire. Due to the heat and size of the fire, 4 brush fires had started along with a small car fire, all first alarm units worked hard for approximately 45 minutes controlling the fires. A37, A39 stood by with PMIC's Mumper and Fitzgerald as the rehab sector making sure all firefighters were kept hydrated and healthy. During the fire attack 2 firefighters received burns and were transported to Calvert Health Medical for treatment. Solomons units handled the transports and Prince Frederick Rescue Squad responded to the scene to maintain the rehab sector.
