At approx 1300 hrs today CALS and units from Huntingtown and Dunkirk responded to the reports of a vehicle accident reported serious involving a car and large truck. Company 5 units arrived on scene at Rt-2 @ Dalrymple Rd and advised several vehicles involved and two patients trapped in one car. Squad 5 immediately went to work extricating the driver while A69 and other units assessed the passenger and found them to be priority 4. M101 (PMIC Dimakas) arrived on scene and joined the crew from A69 who was standing by while the Squad crew worked to free the driver. Chief 10 was in Prince Frederick and responded as the 2nd medic on the call. Squad 5's crew worked feverously to extricate the patient and had them extricated in under 5 mins, the patient was quickly moved to A69 with the crew of M101. The patient was transported priority-1 to CMH in A69. Despite heroic efforts of all providers on scene both patients succumbed to their injuries.
