Medics Assist on Technical Rescue in Huntingtown

At approx 1730 hrs Co.6 and Co.5 and CALS were alerted for the technical rescue in Huntingtown. A 73 year old female had reportedly fallen down a steep ravine in her backyard while she was attempting to catch her dog. Technical Rescue group prepared the (Z-Rig) lifting device while also packaging patient so crews could safely bring the patient out of the ravine. Patient was then assessed by ambulance crew from Co. 6 (PMIC Katzer) and Lt.10 ( Lt. Madariaga). The patient was reported to have sustained only minor injuries and some hypothermia due to low temperatures in the region. Patient was transported to CalvertHealth Medical Center for further evaluation.
