On Friday July 15 2017 CALS placed new CAR 10 in service. Car 10 represents hours of hard work put in by the design committee (Chief Shannon, Jake Hiepler, Spiro Dimakas, Scott Sturmer) and the designers at TNT Graphics in Huntingtown. The project took over 8 months to complete and represent many aspects of our organization. When the leadership of CALS decided to replace our old Car 10 (a used crown vic that served us well for 5 years) we wanted to try something new, something that no one else in EMS in the region had done. We wanted a vehicle that would attract a lot of positive attention to our organization and at the same time explain who we are in a brief glimpse. We knew the new CAR 10 would be a vehicle wrap but of what. The committee sorted through thousands of pictures from EMS vehicles around the world to get some base ideas. We knew we had to incorporate our new trademark "Battenburg" design and at the same time let people know that we were volunteer ALS providers. The committee came up with some ideas of images that we wanted on the vehicle and took them to the graphic artists at TNT Graphics. The artists at TNT worked for hours trying to incorporate all the items we wanted on the vehicle and created several renditions that were rejected. After months of hard work by many CALS is proud to unveil the NEW CAR 10...
