At approximately 1830 hrs Calvert Control Center began receiving calls from multiple people in the Solomons Island area that a Boat had just exploded at the fuel dock and was now fully engulfed. M101 (J.Hiepler) M103 (S.Dimakas) and Chief 10B (Sturmer) marked up with the report of two victims in the water. Units from Solomons quickly arrived and found 1 victim with 2nd degree burns and the other patient unharmed. Crews from Solomons quickly began to extinguish the fire then towed tthe boat to open water so no damage would be done to the pier. M103 quickly packaged the patient and began the ground transport to Medstar Burn Center. M101 was rerouted to other calls in the Solomons area.
